Washington. A small plane went out of control and hit several houses in the eastern area of Portland on Saturday morning, causing it to catch fire. Three people died in the plane crash, officials said.
Officially giving information about the incident, officials said that there were two people on board the small plane and at least one resident is missing. In the pictures and videos circulated on social media in Portland, it can be clearly seen that a house is on fire, while black smoke is rising from the surrounding houses. On this, Gresham Fire Department Chief Scott Lewis said that the fire spread to at least four houses, due to which six families were evacuated from there. Two people were given first aid at the scene, but it was not clear how these people were injured and whether their condition was serious or not. The crashed plane has been identified as a twin-engine ‘Cessna 421C’. It was told that this plane crashed near Troutdale Airport, about 30 minutes east of Portland, at around 10:30 in the morning. The pole and power wires broke due to the impact of this plane. This caused a fire in the crop of a nearby field. Along with this, the plane collided with the houses of Fairview city and broke into many parts. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the plane crash. Safety Board spokesman Peter Knudson said the agency has sent two investigators to the crash site who will investigate and submit a report.
