16 Naxalites carrying reward of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh killed – NNSP

Dantewada. Security forces have got major success in the encounter between security forces and Naxalites on Dantewada-Narayanpur border. In this operation, soldiers killed 31 Naxalites. There was a total reward of Rs 1 crore 30 lakh on 16 of the killed Naxalites. Bastar Police IG Sundarraj P. gave information about this success in a press conference.
During the press conference, IG Sundarraj P. told that the killed Naxalites included 18 men and 13 women. Of these, 14 Naxalites have been identified, while others are being identified. Naxalites killed in the encounter include Naxalite Neeti alias Urmila, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh, who was a member of DKSZC (Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee) and in-charge of East Bastar.

Weapons recovered during the encounter:
Security forces have recovered one LMG, four AK-47, six SLR, three INSAS and two .303 rifles and many other weapons from the encounter site. Apart from this, a huge quantity of automatic weapons were also recovered, which shows the great success of this operation.

IG Sundarraj P. said that this operation was carried out by a joint team of DRG (District Reserve Guard) and STF (Special Task Force) of Dantewada and Narayanpur. He had received accurate information about Naxalites of East Bastar Division, PLGA Company No. 6 and Indravati Area Committee. After this, the operation was started on 3 October and an encounter took place in the Nendur-Thulathuli forest on the afternoon of 4 October.
Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said after the encounter that this operation has created an atmosphere of fear among the Naxalites of East Bastar Division. He appealed to the residents of the area to abandon Naxalism and join the mainstream of society. Bastar Range IG Sundarraj P. said that in the year 2024, the Naxalite organization has been dealt several major blows by the security forces.
Action taken so far in 2024: It is noteworthy that under the anti-Naxal operations of the year 2024 in Bastar division, a total of 188 bodies of Naxalites have been recovered so far, 706 Naxalites have been arrested and 733 Naxalites have surrendered.
