A Thai girl has been detained at Mumbai Airport on charges of smuggling cocaine worth Rs 40 crore (Mumbai Airport Girl Arrest With Cocaine).
A 21-year-old Thai national was detained at the airport on charges of cocaine smuggling.
The girl was caught by DRI on the basis of a credible information during an important operation led by DRI.
She had reached Mumbai from Addis Ababa.
According to the Revenue Directorate, nothing suspicious was found during the first search, however, upon careful checking of his trolley bag, several packets were found which contained a white powdery substance.
After checking, it was found that this white substance was cocaine. According to estimates, its price in the international market was around Rs 40 crore.
The arrested Thai girl has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
