Tehran. 29 people were sentenced to death in Iran. 26 people were hanged in Gejalhasar prison outside Tehran and the remaining 3 people were hanged in the prison of Karaj city. Those who were hanged also included two Afghan citizens. They were accused of murder, drug trafficking and rape. The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency and the Center for Human Rights in Iran have also confirmed the execution of at least two dozen people in Gejalhasar prison. Iran is repeatedly accused of giving death penalty to those involved in the 2022 protests, so that fear can be created among the people.
