Lahore. Seven people were killed and 23 others injured in an explosion in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The dead included 5 children and a policeman. A remote controlled IED bomb was planted on a motorcycle for the blast. The blast took place near Girls Secondary School at Civil Hospital Chowk in Mastung district. Local Superintendent of Police Rahmat Ullah said that the target of this attack was the police van which was going to pick up the polio vaccination team. Another police officer, Abdul Fatah, told AFP news agency that a policeman and a shopkeeper also died in the blast. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has condemned this attack. After the blast, officials reached the spot to investigate. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugatti condemned the blast and termed it inhumane. The Chief Minister said, we will take revenge for the killing of innocent children and civilians. Apart from this, he appealed to the citizens to be alert against terrorists. After the blast, emergency has been imposed in all the hospitals of Quetta. It said that all doctors, pharmacists, staff nurses and other medical staff have been called immediately. No organization has taken responsibility for the attack. However, Baloch and Taliban militants continue to target security forces in this province.
