China’s ‘killer beauty’ Lao Rongji has been sentenced to death.
This 49 year old woman was infamous for changing her identity, robbery, dacoity and murder. A court in China’s Jiangxi province sentenced him to death.
According to reports, Rongji was involved in the murder of seven people between 1996 and 1999. She is accused of killing many people along with her boyfriend.
Used to commit crime with her lover
The court had convicted Rongji a year ago. The allegation was that she along with her lover used to commit robbery and murder.
Once both of them together killed a man’s wife and two daughters. Rongji had crossed all the limits of cruelty. Even after this he could not be arrested for 20 years.
Rongji was arrested in 2019 and sentenced to death by a court in 2021. After this he appealed to the Supreme Court. However, the Supreme Court also upheld the death sentence.
Rongji’s lover was arrested in 1999 and sentenced to death. The court said that Rongji used to commit kidnapping and murder along with her lover.
Rongji’s lawyer said that his role in robbery and murder was very minor. However, the court was not ready to accept this.
During the hearing, the murderer Hasina also became emotional and apologized to the victims’ families. He also offered to compensate them.
According to Chinese media, Rongji used to lure people on the pretext of providing services in entertainment venues and then her boyfriend used to murder her.
He was arrested in 1999 while accepting ransom money. After this, Rongji went to Hefei and started living hiding her identity.
He deceived the police for decades. No one could even recognize him. However, he was arrested in 2019 from a shipping center in Xiamen.
She used to sell watches there. He was accused of international murders, robbery and kidnapping. All his property was confiscated and he was later convicted.
