7 workers died in private coal mine – NNSP

Kolkata . Seven workers have died in an explosion in a private coal mine in Vadulia in Khorashol block of Birbhum, West Bengal on Monday. Many other workers have also been injured in the incident, and the death toll is expected to increase. All the injured have been admitted to hospitals. Police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and started rescue operations.

According to preliminary information, the mine collapsed during blasting in Gangaramchak Mining Private Limited Colliery (GMPL), making the accident even more serious. People said that this accident happened due to explosion during coal mining. A resident of Bhaduria village said, when I heard the loud noise, at first I thought it was a normal activity for the mine. But later it was revealed that some workers died due to the explosion. All the workers are from neighboring villages and used to come to work every morning. I could not even imagine that such an incident would happen. Police and fire departments are engaged in rescue operations, and the matter is being investigated.
