To commemorate the completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution of India, the Central Government has decided to organize Constitution commemorations throughout the year. On Constitution Day i.e. Tuesday, President Draupadi Murmu will inaugurate it by addressing the joint assembly of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the Central Hall of Parliament.
In the presence of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a short film dedicated to the glory of the Indian Constitution, its creation and historical journey will be presented. A commemorative coin and postage stamp will be issued.
The Indian Constitution will be released in Sanskrit and Maithili languages including ‘Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse’, ‘Making of the Constitution of India and its glorious journey’, booklet dedicated to the art of the Indian Constitution. The formal reading of the Preamble of the Constitution will take place in the Parliament under the leadership of the President, and preparations have also been made for mass reading of the Preamble across the country.
On Monday, Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal gave details of the annual commemoration.
On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India, which is effective from 26 January 1950. The government has said that this Constitution started a new era in Indian history. The Constitution is the cornerstone of India’s democratic structure.
A special website Constitution75.com has been created to connect citizens with the heritage of the Constitution through dialogue and activities. Through this, common citizens can participate in the campaign by recording a video while reading the Preamble of the Constitution in the language of their choice. Will be able to upload the video on the campaign website and download the certificate of participation.

Collective reading of the Preamble is being done across the country on Constitution Day. The government is preparing that lakhs of people across the country, from schools to offices, from cities to villages, will read the Preamble of the Constitution together.
Many programs have been planned to maintain public participation throughout the year. Apart from this, a special fortnight will also be organized from 14th April, the birth anniversary of Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, in the year 2025.
