The government has made a big announcement for the students who are trying to make their future in the medical field.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that 75 thousand new seats will be created in the medical line in the country. The special thing is that this announcement has been made at a time when the Supreme Court has recently given its verdict on the NEET exam controversy.
PM Modi is addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day for the 11th consecutive time.
PM Modi mentioned students going abroad to pursue education. He said, ‘Even today in our country, our children are going abroad for medical education.
Most of them are from middle class families, they spend lakhs and crores. We have increased the number of medical seats to almost 1 lakh in the last 10 years.’ During the Russia-Ukraine war, a large number of medical students returned to India.
He said, ‘Today, about 25 thousand youth go abroad every year for medical education. I am surprised when I think about the countries I have to go to. That is why we have decided that 75 thousand new seats will be created in the medical line in the next 5 years.’
