Clash between ED and Tamil Nadu Police, FIR from both sides; The mystery of investigation got complicated from Delhi to Madurai…

The controversy that started with Enforcement Directorate officer Ankit Tiwari taking bribe and arresting him has now deepened.

ED and Tamil Nadu Police have come face to face in this case.

While the ED has started a separate investigation against its officer (Ankit Tiwari), a case has also been registered against the officers of the Anti Corruption Department (DVAC) of the Vigilance Branch of Tamil Nadu Police who entered the ED office in Madurai without a search warrant. Have registered and started investigation.

ED has transferred both the cases to New Delhi.

According to sources, ED has done this because it fears that the state police officers may not cooperate in the investigation.

On the other hand, Madurai Police has also registered a case against ED officers accusing them of obstructing the work. It said that ED officials stopped DVAC officials from searching the locations of Ankit Tiwari.

Let us tell you that the Anti Corruption Department (DVAC) of the Vigilance Branch of Tamil Nadu Police had arrested ED officer Ankit Tiwari in Madurai on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a doctor.

The very next day, DVAC officials of Tamil Nadu Police had conducted a search operation in the ED office in Madurai but were stopped from doing so by ED officials.

Then the ED had written a letter to the state DGP demanding registration of a case against the DVAC officers.

Media reports said that ED had alleged in its letter that on December 1, 35 people had entered the Madurai office illegally.

They didn’t even have a search warrant. Allegations have also been made that DVAC officials have gone away with many important files.

The security of the ED office in Tamil Nadu has since been taken over by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police which comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Sources in Delhi could not confirm whether the FIR sought by the ED has been filed yet.

Additionally, the ED has filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), equivalent to a police FIR, to investigate the case registered by the state vigilance department against Ankit Tiwari on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a government employee and The investigation has been shifted to New Delhi.

Tamil Nadu Police has filed an FIR against officials of the central agency on a complaint by the vigilance department for allegedly interfering and obstructing their searches conducted at the agency’s Madurai office on December 1-2.
