‘Slaughter is not the solution’, Israeli youth refused to join the army and was forcibly thrown into jail…

Amidst the Israel-Hamas war, recruitment into the Israeli Army is also continuing.

On the other hand, many youths are refusing to join the Israeli Defense Forces. He believes that violence cannot be the solution to any violence, hence he cannot fight against Palestine by joining the defense forces.

But the government is dealing strictly with such youth.

An 18-year-old Israeli youth has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after refusing to enlist in the Israeli army amid the Israel-Hamas war, according to a report in American magazine Time.

“I believe that slaughter cannot be a solution to slaughter,” jailed young man Tal Mitnik said before walking into the Tel Hashomer military base, according to a video posted on Mesarvot’s X account.

A criminal attack on Gaza will not solve the brutal genocide perpetrated by Hamas. Violence will not solve violence. That is why I refused to participate in such a military operation.”

In the video, the 18-year-old man is seen saying that he is being sent to Tel Hashomer prison because I have refused to join the army.

After this, many people gathered outside the military prison in support of Mitnick. Media reports said Mitnick’s initial prison sentence could be increased by more than 30 days if he refuses to re-enlist in the Army.

The news comes during a period of frustration for Gazans, who continue to be subject to bombings and attacks by Israeli forces, almost 12 weeks after the war began.

More than 20,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in Israeli attacks, according to figures provided by the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

A UN report also warns that more than half a million people are dying of hunger in Gaza, with the risk of famine increasing every day.

Anger against Prime Minister Netanyahu is increasing in Israel due to not completely releasing about 250 people taken hostage in the terrorist attacks of Hamas on October 7.

On the other hand, despite 80 days of war, the Israeli army has not been able to eliminate Hamas. Sympathy towards Israel seems to be waning in other countries around the world too.
