Life has become hell especially for women. Taliban rulers have made education unnecessary for women in Afghanistan.

There is also a ban on her doing make-up or going to beauty salon. It is banned for people to listen to music. Apart from this, there are many other restrictions, which are making life difficult for the people of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the UN sent a proposal to send a special envoy to Afghanistan. Taliban is enraged at this UN proposal. He has termed this step as unnecessary.

Taliban officials in Afghanistan on Saturday slammed a plan for a UN Security Council special envoy to eliminate gender discrimination and promote human rights as “unnecessary”.

The Taliban government officially condemned this UN resolution. The Taliban is not recognized by the country or the world body and the United Nations has also expressed concern over the Taliban’s arbitrary rule in Afghanistan.

Life like hell for women under Taliban rule
Ever since Taliban started ruling in Afghanistan, once again the life of people, especially women, has become like hell.

Many global institutions including the UN have expressed concern over Taliban cruelty against women. It is said that women should be treated like other citizens. In fact, the Taliban has announced many restrictions as soon as they return to rule.

In Afghanistan, teenage girls are barred from attending secondary schools and women from attending universities. In late 2022, women were banned from entering parks, amusement fairs, gyms and public places. They are prohibited from going to beauty parlors or salons.

Wearing fashionable clothes is prohibited. Women cannot go out of the house without men. Apart from this, dozens of incidents of early marriage of women have worried the UN.

Men are prohibited from cutting beards and wearing pants below the ankle. According to the Taliban government, listening to music or watching movies is haram according to Sharia law.

On Friday, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sent a resolution calling for the appointment of a special envoy for Afghanistan to enhance engagement with Afghanistan and its Taliban leaders.

But Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Kahar Balkhi said the new envoy is unnecessary because Afghanistan is not a conflict zone and is ruled by a government capable of securing its national interests.
