There is no competition for PM Narendra Modi. Saying like this has cost Congress leader Karti Chidambaram a lot.
The party has issued a notice to him and sought his reply. The son of the former Union Minister had said in a conversation with a regional channel that there is no competition for PM Narendra Modi.
Looking at today’s propaganda machine, it seems that there is no competition for PM Narendra Modi. He had said this in response to a question in which he was asked about declaring Kharge as the PM face in comparison to Modi. On this Karti said that there is no competition for PM Modi.
The Congress leadership believes that such a statement is like showing the Congress as weak compared to the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections. Not only this, the trouble for Karti also increased because he made similar comments about Rahul Gandhi also.
When he was asked whether Rahul Gandhi could compete with PM Narendra Modi, he said that this too would be difficult. Karti Chidambaram had said, ‘If we keep one equal to the other and consider the propaganda machine, then Narendra Modi naturally seems to have an edge. Their competition will be difficult.
Not only this, in the notice an answer has also been sought from Karti Chidambaram regarding his continuous support of EVMs.
In fact, party leaders and spokespersons have raised questions on EVMs from many forums. We have also written a letter to the Election Commission in this regard asking for time to meet.
In such a situation, the party has objection to Karti Chidambaram giving clean chit to EVMs. The party has sought a detailed reply on his stand regarding this.
It is noteworthy that there has been divided opinion in Congress regarding EVMs. Many leaders like Digvijay Singh have been openly raising questions, while some leaders consider such claims wrong.
