We do not accept this at all… Why did India get angry in UNGA on Israel-Hamas war…

India on Wednesday strongly condemned the loss of lives and property in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, terming it a “dangerous humanitarian crisis”. Addressing a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ruchira Kamboj said the only way to a peaceful resolution of the conflict is “dialogue and diplomacy”.

India’s envoy said, “The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in massive loss of civilian lives, especially women and children, and has resulted in a dangerous humanitarian crisis. This is clearly unacceptable and we have strongly condemned the deaths of civilians. Also, we know that the immediate cause was the October 7 terrorist attacks in Israel, which were shocking. We had clearly condemned it.”

Kamboj said during the UNGA meeting that India has a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism.

“Since the beginning of this conflict, India has given a clear and consistent message,” he said. It is important to prevent escalation of the conflict, ensure continued delivery of humanitarian assistance, and work towards an early restoration of peace and stability. “Peaceful resolution of the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy is the only way forward.”

During the meeting, Kamboj also mentioned India’s continuous efforts to normalize the ongoing situation in Gaza. He said, “India’s leadership is in constant touch with leaders in the region, including Israel and Palestine…We have also called for continued humanitarian assistance to the affected populations and in this regard, we hope to assist in enhancing Security Council resolution 2720 Will do.” Kamboj said that so far India has provided 70 tonnes of humanitarian assistance, including 16.5 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies, to Gaza in two tranches.

“We also recently provided US$5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in India, including US$2.5 million provided through the end of December 2023, to support the Agency’s core programs and services,” he said. Will go to. “This includes education, health care, relief and social services provided to Palestinian refugees.”

The war between Israel and Hamas began after a Hamas attack on October 7 in which about 1,200 Israelis were killed. Since then, Israel has been continuously attacking Gaza and the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that they will continue their war until victory is achieved despite “international pressure”.
