Congress changed the place of starting Nyay Yatra, now it will start from this district, not Imphal…

The venue of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, starting from January 14, has been changed by the Congress just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Now this journey will not start from the Palace Ground of Imphal, the capital of Manipur.

The Congress has taken this step after the state government did not allow it for eight days and later allowed the journey in the presence of a limited number of people.

Manipur Pradesh Congress chief K Meghchandra said that the party has changed the venue of its program to Khongjom in Thoubal district. This is a private venue.

He termed the N Biren Singh government’s response in allowing the yatra as “very unfortunate” and said the Congress party was committed to launching its Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra from Manipur.

Let us inform you that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will flag off the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra on January 14 which will cover 14 states and 85 districts.

Congress had earlier sought permission from the state government to flag off the Yatra from the Palace Ground in Imphal, but the state government had refused it citing law and order and the situation in the state.

However, the state government later allowed the proposed ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ to begin from January 4 “with a limited number of participants”.

“To prevent any untoward incident and law and order disturbance, permission has been given to flag off the Yatra on January 14 with only a limited number of participants,” the order issued by the office of the District Magistrate of Imphal East district said.Participants The numbers and names of such persons will be made available to this office well in advance so that this office is able to take all necessary precautionary measures.”
