Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa on Friday said the Peshawar High Court (PHC) order to restore the ‘bat’ election symbol of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was prima facie wrong.
Let us tell you that it had been only a few hours since former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Tehreek-e-Insaf got its election symbol back.
Now these comments of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court can trouble the jailed Imran Khan.
In fact, the Election Commission of Pakistan had approached the apex court on Thursday against the decision of the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
The Election Commission had on December 22 declared the organizational elections in Khan’s party ‘unconstitutional’ and canceled the party’s election symbol ‘bat’. But later this decision of the Election Commission was rejected by the Peshawar High Court.
According to ‘Geo News’ news, the Chief Justice, during the hearing on Friday, raised the question whether the High Court found the organizational elections of ‘PTI’ in accordance with the law and asked, “The issue of allotting ‘bat’ as the election symbol. comes after. First of all, we have to review the internal elections of the party.”
“The court only ordered that PTI should be given back its symbol,” Justice Isa was quoted as saying in the report. The decision of the Peshawar High Court is prima facie flawed.”
