Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Krishna Advani will also attend the Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. There is an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm among the people of Ayodhya due to this news.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ram Janmabhoomi temple, has also expressed happiness about this. He said, ‘If Advani ji is coming to see Ram Lalla, it will be a happy moment for Ayodhya.
Full credit for this goes to Advani that he created public awareness among the Hindu people for Ram Janmabhoomi.
Mahant Ram Das, the priest of the old Siyaram temple in Ayodhya, has also reacted to Advani’s participation in the consecration ceremony. He said, ‘If Advani ji is coming to Ayodhya on that auspicious day, it will be like the real homecoming of Ram from exile.’
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president Alok Kumar had said on Thursday that Lal Krishna Advani will attend the Ram temple consecration ceremony.
Advani, 96, is a founding member of the BJP and was at the forefront of the Ram Mandir movement in the early 1990s along with another BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi.
There was controversy over not inviting Advani
Last month, the Ram Mandir Trust had said that both Advani and another BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi were unlikely to attend the Pran Pratistha ceremony due to their health and age, sparking a controversy.
Giving the detailed list of invitees at the press conference in Ayodhya, Trust General Secretary Champat Rai had said, ‘Both are elders of the family and considering their age, they were requested not to come, which both of them accepted.’
However, after Rai’s statement, VHP working president Kumar had said that he has invited Advani and Joshi to attend the consecration ceremony.
‘Advani the creator of Ram Janmabhoomi movement’
Santosh Dubey, one of the main accused in the Babri Masjid demolition, who was a kar sevak, said, ‘Advani ji was the creator and architect of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
Had he not been in Ayodhya on 6 December 1992, the Babri Masjid would not have been demolished and that demolition paved the way for the Ram Temple today.’
Ayodhya’s Pandit Prannath Tripathi said, ‘It will be Ayodhya’s good fortune to see Advani ji after such a long time. Advani last visited Ayodhya in the year 2005. He is coming to the temple town after 18 years. He will definitely bring good fortune to the residents of Ayodhya.
