Mauritius gives special leave to officials for Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha…

In a significant move, the Mauritius government has decided to grant two hours of special leave to Hindu civil servants to attend prayers during the “historic” consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders will attend the consecration ceremony of Ram temple.

The ceremony will be telecast live.

The Cabinet led by Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth of Mauritius said in a statement on Friday, “The Cabinet has approved the granting of two-day leave to public servants practicing Hinduism in the context of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, India, on Monday, January 22, 2024.” “It has been agreed to grant a special holiday for two hours from 11:00 PM as it is a historic moment marking the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.”

Hinduism came to this country when Indians were brought in large numbers as indentured laborers to work on colonial French and later British plantations in Mauritius and neighboring islands of the Indian Ocean.

The migrants mainly came from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
