On the occasion of Republic Day, the flag was hoisted by Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan at the Police Parade Ground in the capital Raipur today and the parade salute was taken.
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and Director General of Police Ashok Juneja were also present during the parade inspection.
The Governor greeted the people of the state on Republic Day. He said that Republic Day is an opportunity to strengthen our faith in the rights of the people and constitutional values.

This work can be done only by fulfilling the basic needs of the general public and by providing everyone with the means, facilities and opportunities for development.
Paying tribute to the immortal martyrs and innumerable freedom fighters who gave India independence, the Governor said that because of their sacrifices and sacrifices, the independent country got the opportunity to make its own Constitution.

Salute to all those great personalities. Due to whose tireless hard work and immense talent, India got a glorious Constitution.
He said that our Constitution has stood the test of time and after a long journey, today we have reached the point of Amrit Mahotsav of our republic.

The Governor also remembered the current President of India, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu and the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that they have proved through their illustrious personality and work that with the power of our Constitution and democracy, a person born in an ordinary family can reach the top positions in the country. By reaching out, he can give his best contribution and spread the glory of Mother India to every part of the universe.
Such an embodiment of the right to equality and justice is becoming a medium for world welfare.

The Governor said that our great Constitution is the soul of democracy. It is a medium to maintain the unity and integrity of the country.
Only by maintaining faith and belief in constitutional values can every individual and state fulfill its duty towards the nation. Every citizen of India can improve his life through the rights given by the Constitution.

The Governor said that the Central and State Governments together have started strong efforts towards speedy implementation of many public welfare policies, schemes and programmes.
After the formation of the sixth assembly in Chhattisgarh, the newly formed government has started taking rapid steps towards fulfilling all the promises made from the first cabinet itself.

“Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana” has awakened the dream in the eyes of every homeless family of India that now they too will have their own roof over their heads.
The government has decided to construct about 18 lakh permanent houses in rural areas, which is a step of great relief for these families.

He mentioned the steps taken by the government towards making the farmers of the state economically strong and self-reliant.
He said that 25th December, the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the father of Chhattisgarh state, was celebrated as Good Governance Day and on this occasion, more than 12 lakh farmers were given Rs 3,716,000 as two-year outstanding bonus of paddy. An amount of Rs crore was transferred to their bank accounts. A decision has also been taken to purchase 21 quintals of paddy per acre from the farmers of the state.

He underlined the achievements of various schemes by mentioning Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Saur Sujala Yojana, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Mission Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan (PM Janman).
The Governor said that youth power is the basis of our secure future. It is the responsibility of all of us to provide them fair opportunities for livelihood along with quality education and values.

The government had promised that an impartial investigation would be conducted into the injustice done to the youth. For this, an effort has been made to bring fairness, transparency and improvement in the selection process by taking the decision of CBI investigation in the PSC case.
Governor Shri Harichandan said that the feeling of faith, reverence and devotion towards Lord Shri Ram is prevalent not only in India but among the people all over the world.

The government has also decided to start a scheme to take the people of the state to Ayodhya and visit Shri Ramlala temple.
Under this scheme, every year about 20 thousand people will be taken on pilgrimage to Ayodhya Dham as well as Varanasi, Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Corridor.

The Governor said that the priority of the Government of India regarding cleanliness is well known. He expressed happiness over the fact that Chhattisgarh has been awarded the title of the third cleanest state in the country in the Swachh Survekshan 2023 organized by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Chhattisgarh has received 6 national awards in various categories for its excellent performance.

With cleanliness we will be successful in achieving the big goals of better health and higher standard of living. Similarly, under the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a mega campaign is also being conducted to inform and make the eligible beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh aware about various central schemes and by connecting the people who are not yet within the reach of the schemes and benefiting them.

The Governor said that the success of our republic lies in the goodwill of the people, mutual cooperation, participation in the development of the state and the country, and strong will for development based on science and technology. On the other hand, our attachment to our ancient culture and spiritual consciousness also contributes.
From the philosophy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the pioneer of Integral Humanism, we get meaningful inspiration to discharge our duty towards humans and the nation. The basic mantra of the government is to pay maximum attention to the proper development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, weaker sections, women, youth, children, farmers, villagers and forest dwellers.

He said that together we all have to fulfill the dream of the man of the era, Atal ji, regarding the creation of Chhattisgarh state. Chhattisgarh has to be made Naxal-free, an island of law and order and peace and a bastion of development. Every goal for the betterment of Chhattisgarh will be achieved with the strategy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”.
The parade at the ceremony was led by Indian Police Service officer Akshay Pramod Sabadra. Under his leadership, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Telangana Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (Men), Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (Women), Chhattisgarh Police (Men), Jail Contingents of Police (Men), City Army (Men), City Army (Women), Band Platoon, Cavalry Squad, Ladies Bag Piper Band Squad, NCC Boys and NCC Girls participated in the march past.
After this, Governor Shri Harichandan decorated the police officers of the state by awarding them Police Gallantry Medal, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service, Meritorious Reform Service Medal and Home Guard and Civil Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Four brave children of the state, Arnav Singh of Surguja district, Om Upadhyay of Durg district, Premchand Sahu of Raipur district and Lokesh Kumar Sahu were awarded the Governor’s Karakamlo with the State Bravery Award.
In the function, the cavalry teams of 3rd Corps Chhattisgarh Force Amleshwar District Durg presented an exciting horse show. After this, school children presented colorful cultural programs.
Attractive tableaux depicting public welfare schemes and development of the government were presented by various departments.
At the end of the program, prizes were distributed by the Governor to the departments for best mastpasting contingents and best tableaux.
