The graph of paddy purchase at support price in Chhattisgarh is increasing every day.
The record of procurement of 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the state last year has already been broken this year.
So far, 133.88 lakh tonnes of paddy has been purchased in the state, which is about 27 lakh metric tonnes more than last year.
There are still two more days left to purchase paddy at support price. On an average, three and a half lakh metric tonnes of paddy is being purchased every day. In view of this, the quantity of paddy purchased this year is expected to cross 140 lakh metric tonnes.
It is noteworthy that this year in the state, 21 quintals of paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre, ensuring the implementation of the guarantee given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Till January 29 in the current marketing year, Rs 28 thousand 104 crore has been paid to the farmers in lieu of purchasing 133.88 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.
According to the information received from the General Manager of Markfed, so far 23 lakh 68 thousand 810 farmers have sold paddy at the support price in the state.
It is noteworthy that 26 lakh 85 thousand farmers have registered themselves in the state to sell paddy at support price. Along with purchasing paddy at support price, custom milling is also going on parallelly in the state.
Paddy is being continuously lifted from the procurement centers by the millers.
Till now, DO has been issued for lifting of 101 lakh 85 thousand 181 metric tons of paddy, against which 91 lakh 13 thousand metric tons of paddy has been lifted by the millers.
