He has also indicated that the proposal can be brought in the current parliamentary term.

MDP’s parliamentary group says that they have also collected more than the required number of signatures. The opposition leader said, ‘We are considering the time and circumstances to file it.

According to the report, he said that some such MPs have already shown interest in the proposal. However, he did not release the names of the MPs.

Government reached Supreme Court against the rules
According to PTI, the Maldives government has approached the Supreme Court over the recent amendment to the Standing Orders of Parliament in view of the opposition’s plan to impeach President Mohammed Muizzu.

This information has been given in the media reports on Tuesday. After these recent amendments, the process of impeachment has become easier.

The Attorney General’s office filed the petition Sunday. There was a scuffle in the House on Sunday between pro-government MPs and opposition MPs following differences over approving four members for Muizzu’s Cabinet.
