PM Shri schools are being rapidly upgraded in Chhattisgarh.
As per the guidelines of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, solar power plants have been approved by CREDA for 83 PM Shree schools.
Under the ‘PM Shri School’ scheme, off-grid solar power plants of various capacities are being established to ensure regular lighting in such un-electrified school buildings of the state, which will help in increasing the school hours, operation of modern educational equipment and It is also proving helpful in night security.
The education level of the students studying in ‘PM Shri School’ is increasing through modern education like smart classes, computers and projectors with the help of solar power plant. Along with this, awareness is being created among the students for energy conservation and promotion of green energy.
So far, CREDA has established off-grid solar power plants of 1504 kilowatt capacity in 1152 schools in the state. Also, the work of solar electrification is in progress in 39 schools under Samagra Shiksha.
As per the instructions of Chief Executive Officer CREDA Rajesh Singh Rana, regular assessment is being done at the district level for high quality and smooth operation of the plants installed in all the schools of remote and inaccessible areas.
Apart from this, initiatives are being taken to install new solar plants in schools as per electricity requirement.
