Mamta Banerjee is scared of BJP, changing her stance everyday; Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary’s counterattack…

Congress’ West Bengal unit president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Saturday criticized Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee and alleged that her changing statements and changing stance were indicative of her fear of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Choudhary has been held by the TMC responsible for a failed alliance between the two parties in West Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Chaudhary said that it is quite unfortunate to see a senior leader like Banerjee targeting the Congress.

Choudhary told reporters at the party office in Murshidabad district here, “Mamata Banerjee is alleging that the Congress is saying all kinds of things to get Muslim votes.

BJP is also saying that Congress will be weak in the coming days, and Didi (Mamata) is saying that nothing is going to happen from Congress.”

Choudhary said, “I am unable to understand what is really in his mind. However, it is quite unfortunate to see that a leader who is in the ‘India’ alliance says such things.”

Reacting to TMC chief Banerjee’s comment that she doubted whether the Congress would be able to get “even 40 seats” in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Chaudhary said, “It seems that Mamata Banerjee is scared of the BJP and this is why That she is changing her stance every day.”

Banerjee’s comments came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that seat-sharing discussions are going on with the ruling TMC in West Bengal and the matter will be resolved.

Banerjee also criticized Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, which passed through six districts of West Bengal.

He compared it to a “mere photo opportunity” for “migratory birds” visiting the state. Banerjee said on Friday, “I proposed that Congress contest 300 seats (across the country where BJP is the main rival), but they refused to pay attention to it.

Now, he has come to the state to woo Muslim voters to his side. I doubt if they contest on 300 seats, will they be able to win even 40 seats.” He had said, “We were ready for an alliance, had offered him two seats which he rejected.

Now let him contest alone on all 42 seats. Since then, there has been no conversation between us. We will fight alone and defeat BJP in Bengal.” Banerjee’s comments came a day after Gandhi expressed hope of resolving the seat-sharing impasse during talks with the party’s ‘digital media warriors’ in West Bengal on Thursday night.
