Advani was born in 1927 in a Parsi colony in Karachi, Pakistan. He used to live here in Mohatta Palace.
After independence in 1947, when the country was divided, he came to India with his family. In June 2005, Lal Krishna Advani visited Pakistan.

The house where Advani lived in his childhood was a two-storey building. When he reached there in 2005, this building had five storeys.
After reaching the old locality, Advani had said that I have spent a large part of my childhood here. Coming back here today, I am feeling very nostalgic.
Advani said that I am surprised to see that the bed and cupboard which I had left behind while leaving here are still in good condition.
