The Israeli army and IDF are continuing ground attacks in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made a big claim.
He says that in this war that started after October 7, 2023, the Israeli Army has destroyed 17 out of 24 Hamas battalions in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said, “I want to make my policy clear. Our main target is to eliminate Hamas. To achieve this, we first need to reduce the number of Hamas battalions. “To date, we have eliminated 17 out of 24 Hamas battalions.”
“Most of the remaining battalions are operating in the southern Gaza Strip and Rafah and we will destroy them as well,” he told a weekly cabinet meeting.
Netanyahu told further plans
According to Netanyahu, the elimination of Hamas battalions would be followed by a mop-up operation and neutralization of the Hamas tunnel system. Israeli forces are doing this in central and northern Gaza, but these operations require a lot of time.
He stressed, “We will not end the war until our goals have been achieved – the destruction of Hamas, the release of all hostages and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel.”
