No respite from cold, snowfall increased the chill; Rain will stop in UP on this day…

February has arrived but winter is not showing any sign of going away.

Cold wave continues in many states of North India. On top of that, the rain is making the weather worse. However, according to the Meteorological Department, the temperature has increased slightly in many plains of North India.

The minimum temperature will remain between 10-14 degrees Celsius over many parts of the northern plains and parts of Madhya Pradesh.

The lowest minimum temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Amritsar (Punjab) on Monday. Fog conditions were observed in many states during the morning.

Today between 05:30 am and 08:30 am IST, dense to very dense fog was observed over many places in Punjab and isolated parts of North-Western Rajasthan.

Dense fog conditions are likely to persist in isolated parts of Bihar, Odisha, East Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttarakhand. The weather remains cold due to snowfall in most places of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and some places of Arunachal Pradesh.

Light to moderate rainfall has occurred at most places in Uttar Pradesh. Not only in UP but also at different places in Punjab, East Rajasthan, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh. The situation remains the same.

Along with rain, there are chances of hailstorm also. There is a possibility of hailstorm at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh.

When will the rain stop in North India?
Under the influence of Western Disturbance, light to moderate scattered rain and snowfall with thunderstorm and lightning is likely at isolated places over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 05, 2024 .

After that there will be dry weather. There is also a possibility of sporadic hailstorm in Uttarakhand on 05 February. Light rainfall is likely at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on February 05, 2024 and thereafter the weather will remain dry.

Rain and snowfall will continue in Himalayan states
Light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/snow very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya and scattered over Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur & Tripura and Gangetic West Bengal during 05th to 07th. There is a possibility of rain.

There is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh on February 05, 2024. There is also a possibility of hailstorm in Sikkim on 05 February.

There will be dense fog in the morning
Dense fog is likely to prevail in different parts of Punjab in the morning on February 06, 2024. Dense fog is likely to prevail over isolated parts of Haryana, North Rajasthan, Jharkhand on 06 February and over Odisha in the morning on 06 and 07 February, 2024.

Minimum temperatures are likely to drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius in many parts of northwest India. There will be no significant change in the weather during the next 3 days.
