The family of Shubhakaran Singh, who was killed at Khanauri border during the farmers’ movement, will get a compensation of Rs 1 crore.
The Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has announced to give this amount. On Friday, CM Bhagwant Mann informed about this decision by tweeting.
He also told that the younger sister will also be given a government job. Bhagwant Mann tweeted, ‘The family of Shubhakaran Singh, who was martyred during the farmers’ movement at Khanauri border, will be given financial assistance of Rs 1 crore by the Punjab government and his younger sister will be given a government job.
Appropriate legal action will be taken against the culprits. Fulfilling my duty.
Shubhakaran Singh had earlier also participated in the farmers’ movement in 2020-21, when he was only 17 or 18 years old. Shubhakaran Singh is the first person who has died in the recent farmers’ movement.
Doctors say that Shubhakaran Singh died due to bullet injury, but which bullet hit his head.
This information will be available only from the post mortem report. Meanwhile, no decision has been taken on the ongoing talks between the farmers and the government.
Farmer leaders have again announced their march to Delhi. Farmer organizations are celebrating Black Friday across the country on 23 February.
At present, the government has proposed the fifth round of talks to the farmer agitators, but till now no decision has been taken regarding it.
United Kisan Morcha has even announced to take out tractor march across the country on 26th February.
