Big blow to Congress’s hopes, TMC will contest Lok Sabha elections on all 42 seats of West Bengal…

Congress has suffered a major setback due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal has again reiterated that Mamata Banerjee’s party is going to contest elections on all 42 seats in the state.

It is worth noting that during the last 24 hours, information had come from sources that talks have started again between Mamata Banerjee and Congress regarding seat sharing, which was considered to be a relief for Congress.

Meanwhile, it also came to light that Mamata Banerjee can give five seats to Congress. However, it was then also claimed that there were talks of giving only two seats to Congress. Amidst all this, Congress again suffered a setback on Friday night.

According to NDTV report, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien has said that a few weeks ago, TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that TMC is going to contest elections on all 42 seats in the state.

Apart from this, candidates will also be fielded from Tura seat of Assam and Meghalaya. There is still no change in this situation.”

It is clear from this statement of TMC MP that Trinamool Congress will not contest the elections in West Bengal in alliance with Congress and is preparing to field candidates on all the 42 seats of the state.

In the last one or two days, many positive news were coming out for the opposition alliance India. First, the alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party was finalized in UP, then the alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party was almost finalized for Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat etc.

An alliance between AAP and Congress can be announced in the next 24 hours. On the other hand, in Maharashtra also the distribution of seats between Mahavikas Aghadi has almost been decided. In such a situation, even though the alliance with many parties has been finalized, Congress may get a shock if TMC enters the fray alone in West Bengal.

TMC faces BJP in West Bengal. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Trinamool Congress had won 22 seats while BJP had won 18 seats.

However, there was not much difference in the vote percentage. TMC got 42 percent votes and BJP 40 percent votes. On the other hand, Congress could win only two seats in the last Lok Sabha elections.

Apart from this, the left account was also not opened. Lok Sabha elections can be announced next month.

At present, Election Commission officials are visiting various states and taking stock of the information and preparations related to the general elections. In such a situation, it is being said that the Election Commission can announce the general elections in the month of March.
