A high level meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party has also been held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It is reported that during this time there was discussion about the candidates for Lok Sabha elections 2024. It is expected that the party will announce the names of at least half of the candidates even before the election schedule is announced.
These may also include seats from PM Modi to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. However, the party has not said anything officially yet.
The first list from BJP may come soon. In a report of Economic Times, quoting sources, it has been said that the party can put forward the names of half the candidates even before the dates are announced by the Election Commission of India i.e. ECI. After the long meeting held on Thursday, BJP may declare its first candidates in a day or two.
These may be included in the first list
According to the report, names of 150 candidates including PM Modi can be announced from Varanasi in the first list of BJP.
Apart from PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National President Jagat Prakash Nadda were present in the meeting held on Thursday.
Apart from this, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, UP CM Yogi Adityanath as well as Uttarakhand and Rajasthan CMs also came to attend the meeting.
Apart from this, BJP can also announce the names of Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister Smriti Irani from Amethi, Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur, Kiren Rijiju from Arunachal West and Prahlad Joshi from Dharwad in the coming days. Besides, there was discussion on the names of Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav and Scindia.
