An Indian national was killed and seven others injured on Monday in an anti-tank missile attack by Hezbollah militants in Lebanon and northern Israel, media reports said.

According to Israel’s Channel 12 TV news, the missile struck a garden in the Margaliot community, killing eight Indian workers.

Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service said in a statement that two Indian nationals were seriously injured in the attack and others suffered minor injuries.

They have been airlifted to hospitals by Air Force helicopters. According to the Israeli military spokesperson, the Israeli Army has given a befitting reply to this missile attack by firing from tanks and artillery.

The violence is the latest in 150 days of fighting on the Israel-Lebanon border amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Patnibin Maxwell, the person who died in Lebanon’s missile attack, was a resident of Kollam, Kerala. PTI quoted official sources as saying that his body has been identified at Ziv Hospital.

According to officials, Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin were injured in this attack and have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

According to the official, “George was taken to Bellinson Hospital in Petah Tikva with facial and body injuries, where he underwent surgery.

Now his condition is improving and he has been kept under observation. He can talk to his family in India.”

The second Indian, Melvin, has also been admitted to Ziv Hospital in northern Israel with minor injuries. He is a resident of Idukki district of Kerala. Earlier in November last year, an Indian-origin soldier serving in the Israeli Army had died.
