Terrorists opened fire on a passenger bus in the Gilgit Baltistan area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Saturday, killing at least eight people and injuring 26 others.
Police gave this information. An official said that when the bus was going from Gilgit to Rawalpindi, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire in Chilas at around 6.30 pm.
The officer said that after the attack, the driver lost control of the bus and it collided with a truck coming from the front.
Chilas Deputy Commissioner Arif Ahmed said that so far five of the eight people killed in the attack have been identified. He said that 26 people were injured in the attack, who have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
He said that two (Pakistani) Army soldiers were also among the dead and a Special Security Unit personnel was also injured.
After the attack, the terrorists managed to escape from the incident site. No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
