The Ministry of External Affairs had said, “We view such comments as interference in our judicial process and undermining the independence of our judiciary.”

Asked about India’s opposition to Germany, the US State Department told Reuters, “You should ask the German Foreign Ministry for more information about their discussions with the Indian government.” However, the Indian government has not yet responded to the comments made by America.
