Yoga guru Ramdev can appear personally in the Supreme Court today.
Hearing is going on in the case of issuing misleading advertisements on Patanjali Ayurveda.
In this case, the court had ordered yoga guru Ramdev and company MD Balkrishna to appear personally.
Not only this, in the last hearing the Supreme Court had also expressed displeasure over Patanjali not following its instructions. After the advice of the Supreme Court, an apology was also sought from Patanjali.
The company had said that our only objective was to encourage the citizens of the country to lead a healthy life by using our products.
Earlier on February 27, the court had asked Patanjali to stop advertisements on all electronic and print media with immediate effect. The court had said that in these advertisements you have made false claims about your medicines.
Therefore, such advertisements should be withdrawn with immediate effect. Not only this, the court had also pulled up the Central Government and said that you did not take action on this and kept your eyes closed. The bench had said, ‘This is very unfortunate. The government will have to take some action immediately.
Actually, this case started from November last year, when a petition was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Indian Medical Association.
In this application it was said that Patanjali is making false claims about its medicines. Its campaigns are running in electronic and print media.
IMA had also given examples of many such advertisements in the Supreme Court, in which Allopathy system of medicine and its doctors were described as inferior.
Objection on things like allopathy medicines and death even after treatment
Not only this, IMA said that many companies manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines also do the same.
In some of these advertisements, it was said that those undergoing treatment under allopathy system of medicine are themselves becoming victims of death, while they are taking modern treatment.
