Central Government employees usually use the Central Government Health Scheme Card for treatment, due to which they get treatment at low or no cost.

If you are also a beneficiary of CGHS scheme, then now it is necessary for you to link your card by making it the ID of Ayushman Bharat Health Account.

The government has implemented this rule from April 1, 2024 and time has been given to link it till April 30, 2024.

It is noteworthy that anyone can make Ayushman Bharat Card, it is a kind of digital health record. To register it, it is necessary to have Aadhar card, driving license and mobile number linked to Aadhar card.

For this, first of all you have to go to the Health ID Portal (Health ID Portal). Click on Create ABHA Number there. You can also download this card.

Your health database can be stored in this health ID card. Doctors can access this database with your consent.

Doctor’s prescriptions, reports etc. will be stored digitally in the database. Information of all hospitals and doctors will be collected through this system.

At present, the common man can feed the records at his own level, but the objective is that the records of the citizens of the entire country should be digitalized and recorded in this system at the hospital and doctor level only.

CGHS Scheme

Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) was launched in 1954 to provide health care facilities to Central Government employees, pensioners and their family members. Currently more than 41 lakh beneficiaries in 75 cities are covered under this scheme.

Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Ayushman Bharat is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). This scheme was started on 23 September 2018.

Under this scheme, health insurance facility of up to Rs 5 lakh is provided annually to the beneficiary family. Under the scheme, more than 55 crore people from 12 crore families of the country are getting security. Out of this, Ayushman cards of more than 30 crore beneficiaries have been made.

Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission

The government’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission aims to develop a platform to create an electronic health record of every citizen.

Aabha is a 14 digit number which is known as the health ID of the beneficiary. It may be released digitally or as a hardcopy. A total of more than 52 crore Abha numbers have been issued till January 2024.
