Due to the successful implementation of this scheme in the district, the dream of thousands of villagers to build permanent houses has come true.
Under this Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Sunita Kamde and her husband Santram Kamde of village Korra of Kurud development block of Dhamtari district have got a safe house. Due to which Sunita Kamde’s years old dream of building a permanent house has come true.
Sunita told that earlier she had a kutcha house, in which she had to live covered with tiles and polythene.
Being a mud house, the house had to face many problems like dampness, insects and water logging during the rainy season.
Sunita told that a permanent house has been built after getting financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand in three installments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Now, by building a permanent house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, we have got relief from all the problems. Sunita said that the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a guarantee that he would provide housing to 18 lakh families of the state, the work of fulfilling that guarantee is being done by the Chief Minister of the state Vishnu Dev Sai, for which Sunita thanked him. It is noteworthy that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, from the year 2016 to 2023, out of total 40 thousand 388 sanctioned houses, 37 thousand 483 houses have been completed, the percentage of which is 92.81.
Dhamtari district ranks second in the state in terms of housing completion.
