Let us tell you that on August 27, 2024, a three-year-old girl of a migrant family was raped on the outskirts of Umargam. An acquaintance and neighbor of the girl’s family, a heretic named Ghulam Mustafa raped the girl and fled after the incident. The Valsad police took the case seriously and caught the accused Ghulam Mustafa in a train near Palghar in Maharashtra in just an hour before he fled to his native state Jharkhand. The next day of the incident, there was outrage among the local people and Hindu organizations in Umargam regarding this incident and they took to the streets to vent their anger. Valsad District Police Chief Karanraj Vaghela assured the public to investigate the case on a war footing and file a charge sheet against the accused in the court in just 15 days. However, the special investigation team of top officials and policemen of Valsad District Police, formed for the investigation, has completed the investigation of this case in just 9 days and filed a 470-page charge sheet against the accused Ghulam Mustafa in the court. The police has tried to ensure that the case is heard in the court every day and the accused Ghulam Mustafa is given exemplary punishment like death penalty. Also, in this case, the POCSO court ordered to give 25% of the amount i.e. ₹ 2,65,000 under the government scheme to the family of the victim girl within five days. People demand that the innocent accused Ghulam Mustafa, who brutally raped this three-year-old girl, should be given death penalty as soon as possible.
