A case of drug smuggling was registered when the police vehicle was not given way

Chandigarh. If a Punjab Police vehicle asks for side from your vehicle, do not delay. It may happen that a false case of drug smuggling is registered against you and you have to stay in jail. This is not a film story, but a true incident. The face of Punjab Police has once again been exposed in the Punjab Haryana High Court. While granting regular bail to Lovepreet Singh, who was accused by the police of possessing narcotic capsules, the High Court said, this is the limit of high-headedness of the police. In this way, by implicating innocent people in NDPS cases, the police is creating an atmosphere of fear in the society and this is absolutely wrong. The court has asked the DGP of Punjab to file an affidavit in the court and also ordered to take action against the guilty police officers. In the next hearing on September 20, the SSP of Kapurthala has been ordered to appear in the High Court.
Actually, Lovepreet Singh of Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, Punjab did not give way to the police vehicle. This is a case of 22 June 2024. Lovepreet was returning home from his farm in a car and there was a narrow road at one place and the police vehicle was behind. The policemen honked but after a few minutes Lovepreet gave way. During this, the police party stopped Lovepreet’s car and took him to the police station. For two days, the family members did not know where he was. Meanwhile, an NDPS case was registered against Lovepreet for possessing more than 500 capsules of drugs. After the bail was rejected by the lower court, Lovepreet’s family approached the High Court, where Lovepreet’s lawyer told the court that this matter is only about ego and Lovepreet has been falsely implicated. When the FSL report was presented in the court, it was told that it was not a narcotic capsule, but a salt of paracetamol. According to the defense lawyer, this story of narcotic capsules was fabricated by the police itself, which got exposed.
