New Delhi . Devotees visiting Vaishno Devi will now get better healthcare in case of any health problem. To enhance healthcare services for the devotees and the local community, Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) inaugurated state-of-the-art telemedicine studios at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital (SMVDNSH).
The studio has been acquired through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between SMVDSB, Hewlett Packard Enterprise India Private Limited (HPEIPL) and Hewlett Packard (India) Software Operations Private Limited (HPISO) on April 6 this year as per the direction of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The objective of this MoU is to set up nine cloud-enabled state-of-the-art health ATMs on the revered Vaishno Devi pilgrimage route and a telemedicine studio at Katra. The newly established telemedicine studio at SMVDNSH is designed to facilitate real-time consultation with doctors on the Vaishno Devi track and medical experts at the SMVDNS hospital. This innovative initiative provides immediate access to specialized medical advice, contributing to better response to medical emergencies and improving patient care.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Board provides free accident insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh to pilgrims visiting the holy shrine, besides free treatment to ailing devotees at SMVDNSH. Garg said that with the increasing demand for updated medical responses to patients, especially pilgrims on the track, the telemedicine studio will provide a vital link between patients and specialists, ensuring timely consultation and reducing the need for referrals.
