He is revered by millions of Muslims around the world, who also know him as Haji Dede Baba. The Bektashi Order is a Shia Sufi order whose roots can be traced back to 13th century Turkey, but now the community is based in Albania.
Albanian PM Edi Rama says that we are creating a new Muslim state so that the liberal face of Islam can be presented to the world. We will be proud of it.
Edi Rama said that we must protect this treasure, which means religious tolerance, and never take it lightly. He said that the new country we are going to create will be in East Tirana. Its size will be one-fourth of Vatican City.
