Balrampur. On Wednesday, a soldier of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) opened fire from his service rifle when he was not given chillies during dinner. One soldier died of bullet injuries and another died of shock. Two soldiers are injured. Bullets have hit both the legs of one of them, while the other was grazed by a bullet.
Both of them have been admitted to Kusmi Community Health Center. The incident is from Bhutahi Camp in Samari police station area of Balrampur district. The name of the soldier who fired the bullet is Ajay Sidar. He is posted in the 11th battalion of CAF. The soldiers who reached the spot after hearing the sound of firing, controlled Ajay.
Initial investigation revealed that Ajay Sidar was sitting to eat food. He asked for chillies from the jawan Rupesh Patel who was serving the food. When he refused to give chillies, Rupesh and Ajay had an argument. During this, the guard commander Ambuj Shukla present there supported Rupesh Patel, and the argument escalated. In anger, Ajay Sidar left his food and fired at Rupesh Patel with his INSAS rifle, killing him on the spot. Ajay fired at Ambuj Shukla’s feet. During this, jawan Rahul Baghel present there caught hold of Ajay Sidar and brought him under control. Ambuj Shukla has been referred to Ambikapur Medical College Hospital after first aid at Kusmi Community Health Center.
One soldier died on the spot while the other died on the way
Balrampur ASP Shailesh Pandey (Naxal Operation) said that the jawan present during the incident, Sandeep Pandey, fell due to shock. He was being brought to Kusmi Health Center, where he died on the way. According to Kusmi Community Health Center’s BMO Dr. Satish Paikara, no bullet marks were found on the body of the deceased jawan Sandeep Pandey. When he was being brought to the hospital, he was bleeding from his nose. It is suspected that his blood pressure increased, which led to heart failure or brain hemorrhage.
