Jalandhar . One of the oldest churches in Jalandhar, Punjab was sold by Natwar Lal of Ludhiana. The accused also took about 5 crore rupees in exchange for getting land for the church. On learning about this, people created a ruckus late at night. A complaint has been lodged with the Commissionerate Police in this regard.
Jalandhar DC Himanshu Aggarwal has banned the said registration and ordered an investigation into the matter. There was a lot of uproar outside the Golaknath Church in Mission Compound, Jalandhar regarding this matter. But the police somehow calmed the situation.
Natwar Lal Jordan Masih, a resident of Isa Nagar, Ludhiana, had deposited Rs 5 crore to buy the 135-year-old Golaknath Church in Mission Compound, Jalandhar. The church land was to be registered two days later. But before that, the officials of the United Church of North India Trust came to know about this fraud. Trust secretary Amit K. Prakash said – Last Tuesday, he came to know that the historic Golaknath Church in Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar was going to be registered in two days. He received a copy of the statement of Rs 5 crore taken for more than 24 kanals of land of the church.
