New Delhi . Now it is not easy to change the date of birth and name in the Aadhar card. Applicants are troubled by the changed rules of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Birth certificate and high school mark sheet have been made mandatory for change in date of birth. Whereas, for changing the full name, one has to go through the Gazette process of the Government of India. 60 percent of the changes are of these. Till now, the change was done through a letter certified by the Pradhan, MLA or any PCS officer. Along with this, only one opportunity is being given for change in date of birth and only two opportunities for change in name. The Government of India and the private companies making Aadhar cards fed the name spelling, address and date of birth incorrectly. The addresses of many villagers were changed. When Aadhar became an identity, the government linked everything from government schemes to bank account, mobile, PAN card etc. After this, the error came to light. People started reaching the Aadhar Seva Kendra to get their name and date of birth changed.
Pradhan’s letterhead, inquiry from neighbors, affidavit too
Ajay Kumar, Operation Manager of Aadhar Seva Kendra of Kanpur district, tells that for changing the date of birth of persons below 18 years of age, the birth certificate and for males and females above 18 years of age, the correction will be done through the mark sheet with photo from high school. People in government service can use their identity card. But, there is a problem in correction of women and men who have not passed high school. Birth certificate is necessary for them. If there is a problem in getting the birth certificate made, then the neighbours will be questioned with the letter pad of the Pradhan. An affidavit will have to be made and submitted, along with the Aadhar card of the parents. Not only this, it is also necessary to get the age certified in the prescription of an MBBS doctor, if it is submitted in the Aadhar office, the date of birth will be changed.
