Regarding Pakistan, it is said that the army rules the country and in the name of democracy, it has been experimenting as to who should be given command and who should sit in the opposition.
This time also the same seems to be happening in Pakistan. In the elections for the 265-seat Pakistan Parliament, independent candidates supported by Imran Khan’s party PTI won the maximum 101 seats.
Even after this, he is now ready to sit in the opposition, whereas Nawaz Sharif, who won only 75 seats, can become the PM of the country for the fourth time. He is also getting the support of Pakistan Peoples Party which won 54 seats. Apart from this, some independents may also break away.
It is believed that this entire deal for Nawaz Sharif was done by Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir. The whole aim of the Pakistan Army is that Imran Khan, who opposes it and openly speaks against it in rallies, should not return to power.
It is being said that Asim Munir did complete planning to keep Imran out of power and has persuaded many parties including PPP to support Nawaz Sharif. Not only this, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government is going to be formed in Punjab.
A meeting of PPP and PML-N leaders was also held on Sunday. In this meeting, there was discussion on government formation from the Center to the states and consensus was reached on common issues.
This meeting took place at the Lahore residence of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Irfan Siddiqui, close to Nawaz Sharif, has also said that it is almost certain that he is going to become PM for the fourth time.
He said that we are the largest party and we have the right to stake claim to form the government. There is no scope for dispute regarding this now.
Nawaz Sharif’s coming to power is also being confirmed by the attitude of Imran Khan’s party PTI. Chairman Gauhar Ali Khan, who is taking charge of the party in place of Imran, has indicated that we will not compromise on our ideology. Instead, we will sit in the opposition.
He told Geo News, ‘We would rather sit in the opposition than compromise our stand. Within a day or two we will take a final decision regarding our strategy. In fact, there is a danger of independents disintegrating under the pressure of the army and in such a situation, Imran Khan’s party will have to stay away from power.
