After Hassan Nasrallah, another big victim of Israel, top commander of Hezbollah killed…

Israel has made another big victim after killing Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) killed Nabil Kouk, commander of the Preventive Security Unit of the Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah.

“On Saturday, Israeli forces killed terrorist Nabil Kouk, who was the commander of Hezbollah’s Preventive Security Unit and a member of the Central Council,” the IDF said in a statement.

The statement said that Kauk was close to the top commanders of the movement. He was engaged in promoting Hezbollah’s campaign against Israel and its citizens. Kouk had been a senior member of Hezbollah since the 1980s.

Earlier he had served as Hezbollah’s military commander in southern Lebanon. The US had announced sanctions against him in 2020.

‘Operation going on against terrorist elements’

The IDF said that this operation was carried out against terrorist elements that threaten the security of the country.

Hezbollah has not yet given any official response to the IDF’s claim. Several senior Hezbollah commanders have been killed in Israeli strikes in recent weeks.

The group’s key leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was also killed in Beirut on Friday. Thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies have been detonated in various parts of Lebanon, mainly targeting Hezbollah members.

Hezbollah continued to fire hundreds of rockets and missiles into northern Israel, but most of them were intercepted or fell in open areas.

Major General of the Revolutionary Guard was also killed

Iran announced on Saturday that a major general of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard was also killed in the Beirut attack that also killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The assassination of General Abbas Nilforoushan is a major loss for Iran, while the almost year-long Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip is on the verge of becoming a regional conflict.

His death has further increased the pressure on Iran to retaliate. However, Tehran has signaled in recent months that it wants to negotiate with the West regarding sanctions that are hurting its economy.
