Beijing. Ending a nearly four-year long standoff, China has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with India to resolve the border dispute between the two countries in eastern Ladakh. According to Chinese media, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that under the agreement, border patrolling has been agreed upon. He said China and India have maintained communication through diplomatic and military channels on border-related issues. Jian said, at present, the two sides have reached a solution on relevant matters, this China views positively. He said that in the next phase, China will work closely with India to effectively implement this resolution plan.

India on Monday said that it has agreed to an agreement with China for patrolling the remaining standoff points on the LAC (Line of Actual Control) in Eastern Ladakh. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, Indian and Chinese diplomatic and military negotiators have been in close touch with each other on multiple platforms over the past several weeks. As a result of this discussion, a consensus has been reached regarding patrolling on LAC in India-China border areas.

According to sources, it has been agreed that in Depsang and Demchok areas where patrolling was hampered, troops will retreat and patrolling will resume. The armies of both the countries will return to the situation before April 2020. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said, we have reached the situation of 2020. This agreement is an important step in resolving the years-long border dispute between India and China and increases the chances of improving relations between the two countries.
