The ruling BJP at the Center has been the biggest beneficiary of electoral bonds.

It has received donations from several corporate groups and individuals such as Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering, Future Gaming and Reliance-owned Quick Supply.

In the last four years, BJP has received donations of more than Rs 6000 crore from electoral bonds.

According to data released by the Election Commission, Megha Engineering has donated Rs 584 crore, while its subsidiary Western UP Power Transmission Company Limited has donated Rs 80 crore.

In this way, Megha Engineering has donated a total of Rs 664 crore to BJP. Megha Engineering has won several contracts for infrastructure projects.

After Megha Engineering, Quick Supply Chain Private Limited comes second, which has donated Rs 395 crore to BJP.

This Mumbai-based company has purchased electoral bonds worth a total of Rs 410 crore. Along with this, this company has been the third company to purchase the maximum number of electoral bonds.

The relations of this company seem to be connected with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). However RIL has denied this.

According to TOI report, Tapas Mitra, one of the three directors of Quick Supply, is a director in a total of 26 companies. Apart from these, Vipul Mehta is associated with eight other companies.

Mitra is also a director in other companies associated with Reliance. For example, his name is also in Reliance Eros Production LLP & Corporation, Jamnagar Kandla Pipeline Company Private Limited. The addresses of these companies are also the same as those registered in the names of other Reliance companies in Ahmedabad.

Apart from this, Tapas Mitra in his LinkedIn profile has described himself as the Account Head of RIL, who looks after the company’s foreign accounts and commercial operations of other group companies.

BJP has also received donations of Rs 346 crore from Keventers Food Park, MKG Enterprises and Madanlal Limited. All three companies have the same address in Kolkata.

Vedanta has also donated Rs 226 crore to the party and Haldia Energy has donated Rs 81 crore. Bharti Airtel has donated a total of Rs 183 crore to BJP. Lottery king Santiago Martin’s Future Gaming has donated Rs 100 crore to BJP.

Vedanta also donated Rs 125 crore to Congress. This opposition party also received donations from Western UP Power and Transmission, MKJ Enterprises and Yashoda Super Specialty Hospitals.
