Lahore. A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Pakistan. A pregnant woman was allegedly murdered by her mother-in-law, who along with three of her associates cut her body into dozens of pieces and threw it in a drain in Punjab province.
Actually, this incident took place last week in Daska of Sialkot district, about 100 kilometers from Lahore. Police have arrested four suspects, including mother-in-law Sughran Bibi, her daughter Yasmin, her grandson Hamza and distant relative Naveed.
Body pieces found in three sacks
Zara Qadir, 20, went missing last week. Police later found the chopped body of a woman, identified as Zara, in three sacks. Zara, the daughter of a police officer, married Qadir Ahmed four years ago and the couple have a three-year-old son.
After marriage, Zara went to Saudi Arabia to join her husband, who works there. She returned to Pakistan a few months ago. A senior police officer said that the accused have confessed to killing Zara and dismembering her body.
In her confession, Sughran Bibi said that she suspected that Zara allegedly practiced ‘witchcraft’. Furthermore, her son Qadir had started sending money directly to Zara from her bank account instead of his mother.

The police officer said that the four suspects suffocated Zara with a pillow while she was sleeping. After this they burnt his face and cut his body into dozens of pieces and then put them in three sacks and threw them in the drain. He further added that Zara was also pregnant.
Zara’s father said that it was a case of extreme jealousy as the mother-in-law and her daughter not only murdered Zara but also cut her body into pieces in hatred. Sugharan and Yasmin believe that due to Zara’s good looks, Qadir was playing into her hands and ignoring them. A case of murder has been registered against the suspects.
