After Parali, now the dispute between Haryana and Punjab regarding the assembly building has increased, what is the whole matter?…

Neighboring states Punjab and Haryana, which were blaming each other over stubble pollution, have now come face to face on a new issue.

Politics has intensified in Chandigarh on the issue of forming a new assembly of Haryana. The main political parties of Punjab including BJP have also opposed this decision.

At the same time, all the parties and BJP leaders from Haryana are supporting it. At present the assemblies of Haryana and Punjab are in the same building.

The initiative to build a new assembly building was taken by the Haryana government. After this, after getting approval from the Central Government, tension increased between the two states.

The Center has issued a gadget notification on November 11 for the construction of a new building for the Haryana Assembly.

Haryana has got land near the IT Park of Chandigarh, this area is adjacent to Panchkula. In return, Haryana government will give 12 acres of land to Chandigarh administration.

Why is Haryana not forming a new assembly in Panchkula: AAP Punjab

Aam Aadmi Party raised its voice of protest against the decision to build Haryana’s assembly complex in Chandigarh, saying that for the people of Punjab, Chandigarh is not just a piece of land, it is a matter related to the sentiments of 3 crore Punjabis.

AAP spokesperson Neel Garg said that the BJP government at the Center is hatching a big conspiracy against Punjab. Punjab has control over Chandigarh in every way.

It was settled by uprooting 22 villages of Kharar and Chandigarh is connected with Punjab in all political, social, economic and cultural ways. This decision has been taken deliberately to create controversy.

Garg said that when Haryana was carved out of Punjab and made a separate state, it was promised that after some time Chandigarh would be handed over to Punjab, till Haryana makes its separate capital, Chandigarh will remain a Union Territory.

The Central Government should take care of this promise and return Chandigarh to Punjab. He asked that if the Haryana government is giving 12 acres of land in Panchkula to the Chandigarh administration in return, then why is the assembly not being built in Panchkula?

Will raise the matter with the Prime Minister and the party president: Sunil Jakhar

Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar said that just as Delhi is the heart of India, similarly Chandigarh is the heart of Punjab. Jakhar has said that he will raise the issue of giving land for Haryana Assembly in Chandigarh with the Prime Minister and the party president. The Prime Minister has made many efforts to heal the wounds suffered by Punjab in the past, but allotting a separate space to Haryana for the assembly building in Chandigarh will hurt the people. They should reconsider this decision.

Senior Congress leader and Punjab Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa said that issuing notification of 10 acres of Chandigarh land to Haryana for assembly is a big robbery on the rights of Punjab. In the year 1966, when Punjab, Haryana and Himachal were given the status of separate states, Chandigarh was a part of Punjab.

In exchange of some money, Haryana was given time to stay in Chandigarh for 2 to 3 years, so that during this time Haryana could establish its capital. In a way, Haryana, which was living in Chandigarh on rent, today wants to become its share in the ownership of Chandigarh by taking 10 acres of land, so that it can strengthen its case regarding Chandigarh in the courts.

Haryana is transferring 10 acres of land in Chandigarh in exchange of 12 acres of land in Panchkula, but the transferred land is just one kilometer away from the land in Chandigarh. If Haryana wants to form its own assembly, then it should establish the assembly on its own land in the state.

Giving 10 acres of land in Chandigarh for the Assembly simply means that the Central Government wants to strengthen Haryana’s rights over Chandigarh so that Punjab’s stand can be weakened on the issue of this right.

Akali Dal will not let this conspiracy succeed: Cheema

Shiromani Akali Dal said any decision to allot land in the Union Territory to Haryana would be unconstitutional as it would violate Article 3, under which only Parliament can change the state’s boundaries.

Addressing the press conference, senior Akali Dal leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema urged to cancel this decision of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and said that it is a violation of the Punjab Reorganization Act, 1966.

Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema termed the move to allot land to Haryana for the new assembly in the Union Territory as a conspiracy to end Punjab’s authority over Chandigarh and said that it is clear that the Haryana government is in collusion with the Center against Punjab. Still working. Akali Dal will not allow this step to succeed at all.

Give Punjab to Hindi speaking area Haryana, then claim Chandigarh

Haryana government minister Anil Vij has hit back at the statement of Punjab BJP leader Sunil Jakhar. He said that Sunil Jakhar may be speaking according to the politics of Punjab, but efforts are already being made from Haryana’s side to form a separate assembly.

In the coming time, after delimitation, the number of MLAs will increase in Haryana and Haryana has decided to form a new assembly accordingly.

On Punjab’s claim on Chandigarh, Vij said that the agreement that was made at the time of formation of Punjab and Haryana has not been implemented till now. Hindi speaking areas have not been given to Haryana yet.

Chandigarh will belong to Punjab when Hindi speaking areas will be given to Haryana. Until we get the water from Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal, we have rights over Chandigarh. We are sitting in Chandigarh only because Punjab is not implementing the agreement made between the two states, so how did Chandigarh belong to Punjab?
