AIIMS doctors’ strike ends – NNSP

New Delhi. The Supreme Court on Thursday heard the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor that took place on August 9 at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College Hospital. After which AIIMS doctors have ended their 11-day strike. Earlier, the CJI had said that the doctors should return to work. The CJI said that we were told that the doctors are ready to return to work. State governments can make some security arrangements for the doctors. We direct the Union Health Ministry to ensure security in collaboration with the Chief Secretaries and Divisional Commissioners of the states. This exercise should be completed in 1 week. States should implement it within 2 weeks. During the hearing, the CJI told the court – the crime scene has been tampered with. Justice JB Pardiwala said – the role of Kolkata Police is doubtful. I have not seen such negligence in investigation in my 30-year career. The next hearing in the case will be on September 5.
