Army Sports’ one-sided victory over SAIL Rourkela
Sports Minister Tankram Verma today awarded the winning team of Mahant Raja Sarveshwar Das All India Hockey Competition 2024 held in Rajnandgaon district.
The final match of the 80th Mahant Raja Sarveshwar Das Memorial All India Hockey Competition 2024 was one-sided, in which Indian Air Force New Delhi captured the title of the competition by defeating Petroleum Sports Promotion Board New Delhi by 5-1 goals. The match played for third and fourth place was also one-sided.
In which Army Sports Control Board New Delhi finished third by defeating SAIL Hockey Academy Rourkela by 7-2 goals.
In the final match of the 80th Mahant Raja Sarveshwar Das Memorial All India Hockey Competition, played at the International Astroturf Hockey Stadium by Digvijay Stadium Committee, Air Force New Delhi won the title of the competition by defeating Petroleum Sports Promotion Board New Delhi by 5 goals against 1 goal. Captured.

Earlier, in the match played for third and fourth place, Army XI easily defeated SAIL Rourkela by 7-2 goals and took the third place and SAIL team remained at the fourth place.
While distributing the prizes of the competition, Sports Minister Tankram Verma and other guests gave a huge silver trophy to the winning team by the organizing committee and Rs 5 lakh given by Baldev Singh Bhatia, former president of Chhattisgarh Cricket Association, a huge silver trophy to the runner-up team by the organizing committee. And Rs 3 lakh given by social worker Bahadur Ali, third place team Army XI C.N. Tiwari Trophy and Rs. 51 thousand given by Ramesh Naresh Dakalia and the fourth prize was given to SAIL Academy with a trophy and Rs. 21 thousand given by international hockey player Mrinal Chaubey.

The award for the best goalkeeper of the competition was given to P.E. Ponnana of the Air Force, an attractive trophy and Rs 5,000 given by Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg, ‘Man of the Match’ and ‘Man of the Tournament’ award given by Rajesh Jain.
The best player of the competition, Tarun Yadav, SAIL Academy was given an attractive trophy and Rs 11,000 by Manish Kamlesh Gautam, the winning runner-up and third placed team of the competition was given a huge attractive cup by Bhilai’s senior hockey player Anoop Srivastava.
The judges were also rewarded on this occasion.
